DNA testing is a complex scientific process which can positively identify relationships between people. Most commonly it is used to establish if a man is the true biological father of a child. DNA paternity testing is also often referred to simply as a DNA test, a paternity test or DNA testing. We have a large team of Customer Service Advisers on hand to answer any questions you may have.
1. You should firstly consider whether this is the right course of action for you and all the other people involved. In particular is this in the best interests of the child in question? Please consider that the results can sometimes be unexpected and may have legal implications. You may therefore wish to take your own legal advice through a solicitor or through an advice agency such as Citizens Information.
2. Having decided that this is the right course of action you should contact Cellmark and request a paternity test. You can contact us by calling LoCall: 1890 987 886.
3. One of our friendly, professional customer services advisors will take you through the process of registering your case and taking the payment over the phone. Don't worry if you do not have all the details to hand as you can always call back later to complete the registration.
4. We will arrange to send you a copy of the registration details so you can ensure that we have recorded the correct information.
5. Cellmark will send the sampling kits to the sampling location.
6. You will need to take two passport sized photographs with you to the sampling appointment. This is not required if you use our dedicated sampling service as digital photographs will be taken at the sampling appointment. This is for purposes of identification.
7. The sampler will then send the samples and photo identification to Cellmark's laboratories in Oxfordshire, UK.
8. If we receive your samples in our lab before 10am we will make the report available to you by the end of the next working day.
